ANTONIA MAVROCORDATOS

ANTONIA MAVROS' Founder and Creative Director, Antonia Mavrocordatos is an Australian– Greek sculptor and jewellery artist whose practice blurs the line between sculpture and adornment. She conceives and directs every piece, creating wearable works of art that balance form, movement, and the intimate relationship between jewellery and the human body. Her designs are brought to life by master artisans in Australia and the United Kingdom, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and luxury.
Working primarily with carved gemstones and precious metals, Antonia collaborates closely with lapidarists and artisans to translate her sculptural vision into striking jewellery, such as quartz bangles, sculpted quartz rings, and statement necklaces. Each piece is made to order, reflecting her philosophy of slow, intentional creation.
Based in Sydney and of Greek heritage, Antonia draws on a multidisciplinary background spanning classical sculpture carving, fashion design, film production, drawing, and painting. She studied for a period at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney and furthered her training in Paris at Van Cleef & Arpels L’École School of Jewellery Arts, completing courses in wax modelling, stone setting, French jewellery history and Japanese lacquer, and high jewellery design gouache painting techniques. She has also studied one year of formal gemmology at the Gemmological Association of Australia, as well as gaining expertise in diamond grading, jewellery sketching, and pearl threading, skills that inform her sculptural approach to jewellery.
Antonia continues to refine her practice through ongoing artistic development and training at a Sydney Sculpture studio. In January 2026, she will participate in an intensive marble carving workshop with renowned Italian based sculptor Usama Alnassar, further deepening her understanding of form and material, a perspective that informs every new collection.
Her upcoming Australian-made collection introduces sculptural fine jewellery crafted locally from regular gold and carefully sourced gemstones, an accessible offering to her artistry without compromising on luxury, precision, or design integrity. Her UK made pieces continue to feature Fairmined gold and recycled platinum, highlighting her commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.
